Many travellers come to Zanzibar for the beaches and wish they could see African wildlife too. The good news: with a short domestic flight, you can enjoy a real safari in Mikumi National Park and be back on the island the same evening.
1. Is a one-day safari from Zanzibar possible?

Yes. The day starts early with a hotel pick-up and a flight to Mikumi, then a full day of game drives in a 4x4 safari vehicle, and a flight back to Zanzibar in the late afternoon.
2. What wildlife can you see?

Mikumi’s open savannah is home to elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, wildebeest, impalas and other antelopes. Wildlife is wild, so sightings can never be guaranteed, but your guide knows where to look.
